Osiri, also called Osirians, are an alien race of intelligent reptilian humanoids native to the distant planet of Osiris. Individuals tend to be slender and tall (normally two to three meters in height) and possess small vestigial wings that are incapable of flight.
Tens of thousands of years ago the Osiri built an advanced and flourishing civilization which spread out across the stars as they mastered space travel. Their interstellar empire expanded to encompass many hundreds of planets, with inhabited worlds quickly subjugated and put under the absolute authority of the emperor.
One of the last worlds discovered by the empire was Eamon, which was charted by Osiri scouts around 11,000 BA and colonized shortly after. Settlers occupied the continent of Veldith and established a growing population there, but the young colony's days were numbered.
Resentment from centuries of harsh and authoritarian rule sparked a revolution that quickly spread to every corner of the empire, with countless intelligent beings (and the great majority of Osiri) killed in bloody battles. The world of Osiris became a shattered wasteland and its surviving inhabitants were reduced to Stone Age primitives. On Eamon, orbital bombardments wiped out the Osiri colonies, leaving only scattered survivors who fled into the wilderness.
Over time the survivors adapted to a simple, low-technology existence, living uneasily but mostly peacefully among the other young races of Eamon. Today their descendants still live in scattered towns and small states across Veldith, and may sometimes be encountered in other parts of the world. They have a reputation for being wary and reclusive, but are also careful and quick-witted, and are known as meticulous crafters.
