The shining Temple of Alaxar is the largest place of worship in the city of Evenhold, and the largest temple dedicated to the sun god anywhere on Eamon. Thousands of pilgrims from across the continent flock to it every year, filling its domed central chamber to marvel at the great golden windows and bask in the shafts of light that pour through them, believed to be a curative for both body and spirit. Many also worship in the surrounding loggias and roofless colonnades, seeking the sun god's blessings.

Construction of the temple began around 480 BA when the rulers of what was then the Kingdom of Aevinn embraced the newly revealed Alaxaran pantheon and made the worship of Alaxar the state religion. It was completed in 412 BA and attracted enormous crowds to its dedication.

The structure stands on the western side of the great plaza in Evenhold's Temple District. The elderly Pindar Rambis has for many years been the temple's high priest.
