Surrounded by dunes deep in the Desert of Terza stands a tall obelisk made of sandstone dedicated to Terza, daughter of Alaxar and goddess of purification through pain and sacrifice. Carved into the four faces of the obelisk's base are prayers to the goddess which when read invoke her purifying punishments. Those who can withstand all four may gain Terza's blessing and protection.

The prayers are as follows:

"O, Terza, goddess of purification, hear my cry. Cleanse me with righteous pain and let my lamentations wash away my iniquity." A multi-thonged whip lashes the reader.

"O, Terza, mistress of the iron, hear my plea. Burn out the evil from my soul lest I be consumed by the flames of the dark one." A red-hot branding iron burns its mark into the reader.

"O, Terza, defender of the true path, hearken to thy postulant. Prick my soul with a thousand needles lest it slumber in the arms of the dark one and be lost forever." A nail-studded belt slaps and furrows the reader's flesh.

"O, Terza, chalice of inner strength, listen to thy supplicant. Drive out the dark one from my thoughts. Concentrate my mind and will that I may fulfill my resolve." A metal band wraps around the reader's head, painfully squeezing it.
