Mystara is a world of magic and adventure, located far from Eamon but connected to it by occasional rifts and inhabited by many of the same races. The world, its moons, and its sun are situated in a region known as Mystaraspace, but its precise location within the Material Planes is uncertain.
The earliest recorded connection to Mystara came with the formation of what's now known as the Burnt Gate, which per ancient records appeared around 2900 BA near the border of Ervuol and Lanst, not far from what is now the city of Knarwich in the province of Gwill. When the apocalyptic Great Rain of Fire occurred on Mystara, the blast traveled through the rift, devastating the surrounding area.
Years on Mystara are almost exactly the same length as on Eamon, with one Mystaran year equal to 0.9945 Eamon years. The present year on Mystara is 1000 AC.
