Midkemia is an inhabited world in a distant plane, with abundant life, diverse magic, and rifts that occasionally open to Eamon. Its three continents are Triagia, Novindus and Wiñet.
The world's inhabitants are predominantly human, but elves, dwarves, goblins, trolls, and dragons are also represented. Elves and dragons are Midkemia's only native intelligent races; all others came to the world in the distant past through rifts.
Midkemia occupies the same material plane as the world of Kelewan, a planet that attempted to conquer Midkemia in the ninth century YA and which was later destroyed.
