The storied Guild of Free Adventurers is an organization of warriors, mages, and rogues headquartered at the Main Hall in the city of Evenhold. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to join, but those who lack strength, speed, and an aptitude for magic rarely survive their first adventures. Many of the greatest heroes of central Addar have been members of the Guild and their exploits are recounted far and wide.

History

The organization was chartered in 212 YA during the early years of the Council of Twelve, who recognized the value of uniting and supporting the land's most daring individuals. Its first headquarters was several miles south of the city, but in the summer of 660 it relocated to its current home in the Temple District.

Organization

The Guild of Free Adventurers is led by a guild master who is served by a council of six senior members called wardens. Below the council are various officers including the beadle, the proctor, and clerks, as well as experienced adventurers known as masters-at-arms who instruct junior members in a host of necessary skills, from combat and survival to wayfinding and diplomacy.

Key people

Anyone visiting the guild's Main Hall, be they members or outsiders, are likely to run into the Irishman, a burly and short-tempered pile of muscle and ginger beard-hair who acts as the guild's beadle and senior clerk. The senior Knight Marshal William Misslefire and his guards also patrol the building to ensure peace and order.

In the hall's undercroft, where approved merchants run their stalls, visitors may meet the friendly armorer Marcos Cavielli, the resident wizard Hokas Tokas, or other vendors plying their trades. The area also features a bar that serves a variety of alcoholic beverages and simple meals.
