The Crownfall. In simultaneous operations, the resistance captures both claimants and their chief lieutenants, and secures their arsenals. All are taken to Bardshill Castle, which the pro-resistance citizen militia of Evenhold hours earlier stormed and liberated. After some brief and scattered skirmishes with remaining loyalists, the coup succeeds and the resistance secures peace.
The twelve senior leaders of the resistance form a governing council. As their first act they publicly destroy a Talus weapon in the city square, declaring a permanent end to the use of royal superweapons. All the remaining weapons are likewise destroyed. The council banishes both claimants from the kingdom and arrange for Corlis's youngest child, his daughter Kensha, to be crowned as a figurehead monarch with governing power vested in the council.
A period of stability, prosperity, and exploration begins.
