The Celtharians are a space-faring alien race native to the world of Celthar.
In 744 YA (the "Grey Year") a Celtharian expedition reached the planet Eamon and began efforts to establish a colony in central Addar, using their sophisticated technology to convert all the physical material in the vicinity of the site — rocks, trees, animals, and even people — into atmosphere processing equipment and other colony infrastructure.
The surrounding kingdoms led by Molinar of Evenhold sought to end the threat using magic, a phenomenon the Celtharians had never encountered and were unprepared to resist. Sorcerers leading teams of sappers penetrated the nascent colony, destroying its automated building systems, killing the aliens tending it, and shattering every structure that had been erected. They even teleported into near-space, boarding and permanently disabling the orbiting mothership.
In the wake of the event, authorities traced and destroyed every piece of the Celtharians' replicating technology that could be found, and made possession of Celtharian artifacts a capital offense. The colony site near the border of Nexdor and Malboria has since healed and become overgrown with new life, but remains uninhabited. The broken colony ship remains in geostationary orbit, visible as a star-like speck in the night sky above Addar.
