Arda is an Eamon-like world, thought by most to lie within a parallel material plane known as the Plane of Eä. Arda and its plane are ruled and shaped by the creator deity Eru Ilúvatar, possessor of the Flame Imperishable. Rifts occasionally connect Eamon and Arda, and individuals are known to have crossed between the two worlds.
Arda's largest continent, Middle-earth, is inhabited by many of the same races as Addar including humans, halflings, elves, dwarves, orcs, dragons, and others. Eamonite elves in particular have a shared cultural and ancestral connections with the elves of Addar.
The world is illuminated by the star Anar.
Influence on Eamon
The earliest connections between Eamon and Arda date back tens of thousands of years. Imin and Iminyë, the oldest elves in Middle-earth, along with a small number of their clan, traversed one such rift to depart their home of Cuiviénen and settle in the vast, uninhabited forests of western Addar on Eamon. They and their descendants formed the first humanoid civilization on Eamon and were the earliest ancestors of modern Eamonite elves.
In more more recent ages the Hollin Rift has been the only known connection between the worlds, opening for roughly two centuries every 750 years. First recorded around 2600 BA, the Eamon terminus lies northeast of the city of Evenhold, while the Ardan side is situated west of the Misty Mountains. Explorers and adventurers occasionally traverse the rift, but since the land of Eregion has lain uninhabited for thousands of years there's been little trade or diplomacy conducted through it.
